Integrative Dermatology expands traditional dermatology by incorporating complementary and alternative therapies to treat the whole person, not just the skin condition. This approach recognizes that factors like diet, nutrition, stress, and lifestyle can significantly impact skin health. For instance, the curriculum includes modules on nutrition, mind-body medicine, and the impact of herbs and supplements on skin. While many patients are already seeking out such therapies, conventional dermatology training often lacks sufficient education in these areas. DCIE equips dermatologists with the knowledge and tools to confidently address patient questions about integrative approaches and incorporate them into treatment plans.
The DCIE is a 1 year program. The curriculum is delivered primarily through online, self-paced modules, offering flexibility for busy practitioners. In addition to the online coursework, the program includes monthly live virtual discussions, providing opportunities to interact with faculty and peers.
The program offers payment options to make it more affordable. You can choose to pay the full tuition upfront or in three monthly installments.
DCIE program is designed for PAs, NPs, RNs, primary care practitioners, and other medical professionals to help build a toolkit of dermatologic skills.
